=================================================================
on behalf of the cast and the crew (whom I'm not authorized to speak for :) ) I'd like to thank you, our ARMCHAIR DRAGONS, for making DRAGONS' DEN the #1 new show on the CBC. I'd also like to congratulate all the pitchers (those that made the show, made the auditions, made the final edit) who had the courage: to get off your couch, to take your ideas to the next level, and to follow the difficult but often rewarding entrepreneurial path. You truly are amazing and we salute you.
See you next Season!!! Apply now!
for Inside the Dragons Den,
good night and good venturing.

Look our Lornestar, somebody inside the CBC is trying to eat your lunch and mow your lawn.
She (or he) is the mysterious blogger Ouimet who writes the inside the CBC blog called The TeaMakers, I honestly think this clip falls why short of anything Lornestar did in the Webisodes, but have a look and decide for yourself.
As we move into tabulating and annoucing the Dragonee's People's Choce awards (don't forget to vote below), I thought I'd share with you a recap of the webisodes to date. Special thanks to director Lornestar who did the heavy lifting on these. Please post your thoughts and comments (just hit the comment button below) on these, how we can make them better, funnier, more interesting and most of all what you'd like to see from Season Two's Webisodes?

Well Season One is done, and all that is left is to hand out the hardware. If you haven't voted for your favorites, now's the time. Voting closes Tuesday at Midnight (est).
Vote below then come back Thursday to see who won!
By now you know that Season One has come to close, breaking all sorts of records for the CBC. What you may not know, is how the crew celebrated the season finale.
We did, as we always seem to do.....go to Senior Producer Tracie Tighe's home and have a party, this time complete with Dragons' Den inspired cupcakes.
The night was fun as always, and this time ended with some wise words (no pun intended) from the boss,
Stuart Coxe (note the fiendish red eyes).
So what's next? Well, first there are the DRAGONEES....the peoples choice awards for Season One, be sure to vote, starting tomorrow.
Then we need to start sifting through the applications for Season Two. If you want to join the que to get on Season Two...click here: http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/apply.html

According to their website, the Isle of Man is encouraging people to forget the Dragons' and go Into the Foxes' Den:
Enterprises To Compete For Access to £Millions In Funding
ISLE OF MAN, British Isles, 18 October 2006 –Companies in the Isle of Man and around the UK are invited to enter the Foxes’ Lair to compete for funding from the UK’s leading sources of investment, it was announced today. The competition, loosely based on the BBC’s Dragon’s Den, will see up to two dozen finalists vying to find funding for their businesses.
“The Dragons are famous for offering up around a £100,000 to budding entrepreneurs, but we’re upping the ante; we’re ready to introduce some serious money into some serious enterprises,” said Fox Capital Director Justin Martin. “Our focus is on expansion stage companies that are looking for up to £25 million in funding to take their businesses to the next level.”
The Fox’s Lair is open to privately-held companies of any size; profitability is not necessarily a requirement. Roy Tilleard, Director at Fox Capital explained; “Companies that have strong turnover growth and a healthy margin, but may lack the resources necessary to fully capitalise on market opportunities, are ideal candidates for the Fox’s Lair.”
So first we had the Money Tigers from Japan, then the UK Dragons, then the Sharks from Israel, and now the Isle of Man's Foxes....what is next? Gibraltor's Giraffe's Home? Finland's Fish's Bowl?
In the meantime, you can see a video on Fox's Lair here: http://foxeslair.strivepr.com/video/foxcapital.wvx
