So now that PR superstar Netta (from Media Profile) has removed the embargo on my sharing all things Arlene, I can breathe easier and happily share some pix from the set staring our new Dragon. (just click a pic to enlarge).
and for those who are wondreing, yes she does like Grilled Cheese.

She's sexy. She's sassy. She's super smart, and..... she is our new DRAGON.
Her name is Arlene Dickinson, and she's taken the Den by Storm.
One CBC insider was even recently overheard saying:
"I want Arlene to be my mom, and that's saying a lot, cuz my mom rocks!!!"
And for the record, she is not a lady dragon, nor a dragonette, she is a DRAGON, and can breath fire with the best of the rest of our judges. You'll have to wait until Oct 3rd to see for yourself, but in the meantime, as George S would say, here is the bio:
After joining Venture Commincations as a partner in 1988, Arlene took over sole ownership in 1998. Her vision has driven Venture's growth, successfully building it from a local firm into one of Canada's largest independent marketing firms, with offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa.
Her accomplishments, vision and leadership have been recognized with several honours and awards. Next week, CBC will begin round 3 of taping for Season Two of Dragons Den.
This week the producers are hard at work inviting pitchers to attend these last days of filming.
Rest assured, if you are selected, you will be contacted. Unfortunately, there are simply too many applicants for the team to inform those not selected.
So for those of you waiting for "the call", please stand by and have some understanding that this is not an easy process. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience.
Today we saw the Dragons' enter new terrority.
One the pitches was soooooo poorly delivered that one of the Dragons, actually left his chair, pushed the pitcher aside and repitched the entire deal for the remaining 4 dragons. In the 8 years I've been doing venture capital, I have never seen that before. In the end it was shame cuz the guy was great, super smart, great product, but if you can't explain it, they can't fund it.
Another thing I've never seen? A crew so in love with Grilled Cheese.

The second most famous may or may not be Laurence Lewin,
but one thing is definitely true, our LL is way less evil.
Well today on set we celerbrated his birthday. 
I'll let you count the candles yourself.

Today the series broke three records:
1) we exceeded the total money invested last year.
2) we exceeded the total number of deals done last year.
3) we did 3 deals in one day.
And we still have 6 days left!!!!!

but in the end, truth be told, it is all about the grill cheese.
Round two (of three) of taping for season two began today, and the deals keep on rolling. As do the tears, the dreams, the passion, and the Dragon one liners.
