CBC releases - Season 2 Promo(s)

Today an insider from CBC's team sent two promos that will start running as early as this weekend........having now watched episodes 1 and 2 of Season Two, let me tell you, this promo says it all.

DD nominated for Gemini

Congrats to Stu and the entire crew from Season One.  Dragons Den has just been nominated for a Gemni for: Best Reality Show.  The award will be handed down on Oct 16th (15 days after season 2 begins) and the nominees include:

5 Seekers
p. Joan Jenkinson, Ralph Benmergui, Allan Novak
(Seekers Television Inc.)

Canada's Next Top Model - Season 1
p. Sheila Hockin, David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg
(Temple Street Productions)

Design Interns
p. Maria Pimentel, Joseph Blasioli
(Design Interns Productions Inc.)

Dragons' Den
p. Stuart Coxe, Mike Downie, Tracie Tighe
(CBC)

The Next Great Chef - Season 2
p. Edi Osghian, Giuliana Bertuzzi, Nick Versteeg
(Next Entertainment Inc

When asked for comment, DD Exec Producer Stuart Coxe was unavailable (understandable since he is busy on his next project, bringing back FRONT PAGE CHALLENGE) so we instead went to on-set insider Stella Bigglesworth who had this to say:

"It is between us and the Next Top Models, and hear me now Canada, we will kill those skinny skanks".

All the news you need to know

CBC annouced their fall schedule this week, and Dragons' Den was smack dab in the middle of all the hubbub.

For those of you who don't read 100 papers or watch 100 channels, here are some outtakes (click them for the whole story):

Kevin vs. Sean, Round 1

Just found this on Google Video......"DragonKeeper Sean Wise talks about his new book "Wise Words: Lessons in Entreprenurship and Venture Capital" with Dragon/investor Kevin O'Leary and the charming and insightful Amanda Lang."

The Hour v. Dragons Den part 3

Look our Lornestar, somebody inside the CBC is trying to eat your lunch and mow your lawn.

She (or he) is the mysterious blogger Ouimet who writes the inside the CBC blog called The TeaMakers, I honestly think this clip falls why short of anything Lornestar did in the Webisodes, but have a look and decide for yourself.

Dragons' Den, CBC's fastest growing show?

CP (Canadian Press, aka the Wire service that feeds hundreds of papers around the country), reported today that:

'....."Dragon's Den" is already the fastest-growing program in the CBC's schedule, getting a total of 657,000 viewers....'

Jobloft featured at Alma Matta

Episode 3's winner, the boys in the Orange ties,  were honoured by their Alma Matta with a key story in the Ryersonian, to enlarge it, just click below.Dragons_den_oct4_06_1

Wood hits Metro

The lovely Jennifer Wood is featured in today's Metro as a precursor to tonight's awesome episode. Here's the story (you can click it to enlarge it):

Metro

Ratings up 35%!!!

The ratings have just come in.....and yes, they are good. (note: corrections have just come in, they are below)

Episode 2 saw an increase of 15% 30% in viewership from Episode 1.

Episode 3 (this week) saw an increase of 35% in viewership from Episode 2.

Overall the ratings from episode 1 to episode 3 jumped 75%

There is still lots of room to grow, but thanks to you, the ARMCHAIR DRAGON ARMY (or ADA) the word is slowly getting out. So let's continue to chat, comment, blog and spread the word and hopefully this trend in viewer growth will continue. If it does all those who think they could do better in the Den, may get a chance to strut their stuff for Season Two.
