That's a Wrap!!!!!

Well, folks as Porky Pig used to say:

Season Two is now offically "in the can". The cast and crew will now take a much deserved few days off, then it will be back to the studio to begin the long and arduous process of editing the show.  In the end, we broke records for number of deals done and total amount invested. 

Here are some pix from the last few days of shooting.

For those who didn't make it for Season Two, rest assured if we get good ratings, CBC will most likely do a season three.  So now it is up to you to watch come October!

Thanks to all those who applied, who tried out, who pitched, who worked behind the scenes and of course to our Dragons!!!!!

Boston Pizza serves up the Crew

Last year Jim treated the crew to as much pizza as they could eat.  This year he and fine folks from Boston Pizza took it to the next level not only serving up pizza, wings and salad, but Jim also gave each member of the crew a fully loaded Boston Pizza card.

Guess Gilled Cheese is out....Boston Pizza is in.

Round 3 - Day 1

After nearly a week off, the cast and crew returned to the Den to get ready for the home stretch. Over the next 5 days we will wrap primary shooting for Season Two.

Today's "heard from the set" include:

• What do you feed that pig-dog?
• You are flushing your money down the toilet
• That sir, is the worst idea I've heard all season

But the highlight came in the form of a four legged pitcher

Round 3 - Please Stand By

Next week, CBC will begin round 3 of taping for Season Two of Dragons Den.  This week the producers are hard at work inviting pitchers to attend these last days of filming.

Rest assured, if you are selected, you will be contacted.  Unfortunately, there are simply too many applicants for the team to inform those not selected.

So for those of you waiting for "the call", please stand by and have some understanding that this is not an easy process. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience.

Round 2 - Day 3

Today we saw the Dragons' enter new terrority.

One the pitches was soooooo poorly delivered that one of the Dragons, actually left his chair, pushed the pitcher aside and repitched the entire deal for the remaining 4 dragons.  In the 8 years I've been doing venture capital, I have never seen that before. In the end it was shame cuz the guy was great, super smart, great product, but if you can't explain it, they can't fund it.

Another thing I've never seen?  A crew so in love with Grilled Cheese.

Round 2 - Day 2: Record Breaking Day

Today the series broke three records:

1) we exceeded the total money invested last year.

2) we exceeded the total number of deals done last year.

3) we did 3 deals in one day.

And we still have 6 days left!!!!!

but in the end, truth be told, it is all about the grill cheese.

Round two - Day 1

Round two (of three) of taping for season two began today, and the deals keep on rolling. As do the tears, the dreams, the passion, and the Dragon one liners.

From the Set - Day 2 - Jim T's BDAY

Day two has now wrapped and it was another fabulous day . Lots of deals, lots of great pitchers, and best of all CAKE!

Sandie, Jim's lovely wife flew in from Texas to surprize her pizza loving hubby with a cake from his kids and grandkids. A cake big enough to feed us all (big ups to Cheryl, Candace, Sam, Brad, Julie, Ryann and Resse - our stomaches thank you). Man if this keeps up I'm going to be 40 lbs heavier by the time the show wraps.

Oh well, that's showbiz.

From the Set - Day 1

Well today we began our first day of shooting for Season Two.  This is the first of four days.  Then the crew and Dragons get a week off and we start all over again, for the next four days. 

Today was, according to EP Stu Coxe "The best day of taping EVER".  We truly had lots of emotions, lots of great pitchers and lots of great outcomes.  I won't spoil the surprise, but if today is any indicator, SEASON TWO will kick ass.  Here are some behind the scene pix, from our new studio at CBC headquarters, to get you up to speed.
